Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport, an important aviation hub in the northwest region, actively responds to the national "dual carbon" goals. Taking the third-phase expansion as an opportunity, it fully implements the concept of green development, creates a "new green model", and opens up a new path for the sustainable and high-quality development of the airport. If you observe carefully, you will find that the designer has simply packed the entire Gansu Province into this terminal building. Terminal 3 is designed with the core concept of "Reaching for the sky and standing firm on the ground, the Golden River of the Silk Road, and the dream of flying to the sky". When viewed from above, it looks like a huge bronze tripod. Four finger corridors extend from the main body, each ranging from 336 meters to 422 meters in length, with gentle curves, symbolizing the "Nine-Bend Yellow River". Have you noticed a treasure detail? On the roof of this main building, there are 22 "light chasers" hidden, whose designs draw inspiration from the "Dunhuang Flying Apsaras Ruyi Auspicious Clouds", featuring undulating canopies and flowing light bands. On the top of the parking building, a skylight with auspicious cloud patterns is outlined using Saxony aluminum alloy decorative products. These 22 skylights can save electricity for lighting by enhancing the utilization rate of natural light, and the environmental protection index is directly maximized. By modernizing traditional elements, a simple, grand and unique architectural image with Lanzhou characteristics has been formed. The design of Terminal 3 adopts a layout of "main building + four-finger concourse", with a building height of 44.75 meters. This design not only makes the interior space of the terminal building more spacious and bright, but also facilitates the movement and gathering of passengers. It is worth mentioning that the large roof ceiling of the terminal building and the comprehensive transportation center have adopted 170,000 square meters of [Saxon] aluminum alloy honeycomb panels and aluminum alloy strip metal decorative products. Through the integration of BIM technology from Saxony and the characteristics of the products, it is seamlessly combined with the unique design concept of the terminal building and the profound cultural heritage of Lanzhou as an important node on the Silk Road. Terminal 3 is closely connected to the Integrated Transportation Center (GTC). Looking up, one can see that the ceiling of GTC adopts the transparent and linear aluminum alloy decorative panel products of Saxony. During the transfer, one can deeply feel the experience of integration, three-dimensionalization and seamless transfer between GTC and the terminal. The comprehensive transportation center is the first comprehensive passenger transport hub in the country to implement the optimization of the air-rail (rail) transfer process, integrating various transportation modes such as road, rail and air. This convenient transfer experience will greatly enrich passengers' travel options. In general, the opening of Terminal 3 of Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport is an important milestone in the construction of aviation hubs in the northwest region. The design concept of the waterfall screen is "The Yellow River plunges three thousand feet straight down". Its modern design, intelligent services and convenient transfer experience will all bring passengers a more comfortable and efficient travel experience. If you have the chance to come to Lanzhou, why not experience this brand-new terminal building for yourself?
